No- Knead Chocolate Cherry Pecan Bread: ABC

No Knead Chocolate Cherry Bread...sounds like it should be easy, right?
For the most part it was easy, lots of waiting time and a very sticky dough that I don't think I controlled very well.  I was trying to put the add ins
(chocolate, dried cherries, and toasted pecans) after the first rise.  I patted out the dough the best I could into a rectangular shape and
sprinkled the add ins
then rolled it up jelly roll style.
I was trying to keep them inside the loaf like the recipes suggests you do.  Well, they did not swirl really pretty....
they just clumped all in the middle.  Darn!

It tasted good!
I was expecting more of a crunchy crust,
while mine turned out more chewy.

Oh well, live and learn!
I do think this will make some pretty good
toast in the morning, though!

The recipe is from the King Arthur Flour...you can find it here.

We have another bread slotted for next month. Cheese-stuffed Crust Loaves...we will see how I do with that one!

Until then
Enjoy!

  1. Your bread turned out really nice. You got a nice rise and the texture looks really good too. I'm trying to imagine clumped up chocolate and cherries and that actually sounds pretty good :-)

  3. Looks good! It's very light in color -- did you use all white flour?

  4. Oh yes, if anything this loaf is a brilliant toast in the morning bread! I love the soft texture you got, looks very airy

  5. It is difficult to distribute the add-ins evenly, when you put them in as a layer after the dough is already risen. But I wouldn't complain about your bread, it really has a nice crumb. Perhaps you should have baked it a little longer?

  6. Chocolate and cherry together is one of my very favorite flavors. Sounds so good in a bread...and your bread actually looks pretty good!

  7. Your bread looks nice with good texture! Yup, the dough was so sticky that I just roughly mixed in the fruits and nuts, and dump the whole mess in a cake pan. It turned out wonderful! This is one delicious and tasty bread!
